I hope you’ll be addressing the insidious erosion of the civil rights that Magna Carta first enshrined. Fortunately NZ has not seen it to the same extent that the UK and US have, but the speed with which those countries have lost them should send shivers down our spines. We’ve just been lucky. It’s a lot easier for a small country to be overtaken by the forces of bureaucracy and statism, under the guise of security.
I expect the resigning shadow home secretary David Davis (see my weblink) will be much-quoted during the Magna Carta commemorations.
